2009 DMACC MID-AMERICAN WINE COMPETITION

In the recent Mid-American Wine Competition held at Des Moines Area Community College, Crofut Family Winery and Vineyard received 2 bronze medals. The competition was held July 10-12 and open to 16 states of the Midwest. Over 630 wines were entered by 95 different wineries.

“These wines were top notch,” said Bob Foster, Director of the Mid-American Wine Competition (MAWC.) “Consumers ought to track them down and taste them.”

Crofut Winery earned Bronze medals for our Frontenac 06 and Prairie Blanc 07. “The quality of the wines from the Midwest is very impressive,” said lead judge Doug Frost of Kansas City. “It conclusively demonstrates that the Midwest is making top notch wines.”

July 2008

In the recent Mid-American Wine Competition held at Des Moines Area Community College, Crofut Family Winery and Vineyard received 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. The competition was held July 11-13 and open to 14 states of the Midwest. Over 640 wines were entered by 112 different wineries.

“The quality of the wines from the Midwest was very impressive” commented lead judge Doug Frost of Kansas City. He noted, “It conclusively demonstrated that the Midwest is making top notch wines.”

Crofut Winery earned a Silver medal for our 2007 La Crescent Sweet (new this year) and a Bronze medal for our 2007 La Crescent White. See our 2008 placements in the IEWC and Taster's Guild competitions, too.
